And how many times have you answered with ease?
It's a simple question. Or isn't it? Cultures and experiences do not necessarily know borders. There are certain things which connect people beyond regions, countries and continents. How about we stop for a moment and learn to see connecting lines instead of dividing ones? |
We would like to invite you to rethink and retell your personal and cultural stories, and exchange them with 39 other people from 8 European countries:
The aim of Outline: a journey to discover your personal map is to rethink and retell our personal stories connected to geographical locations, to welcome each others' differences and see each person and issue in its uniqueness.
We are used to be defined by the place where we were born and grow up. However, we often question our belonging, identity and origins, because we try to fit into concepts developed in different times under different circumstances. In Outline, we create a space to experiment and experience, to declutter and to see what is there to keep and what is there to change.
Through the diverse 10-day program, you will have the chance to outline your own personal journey. We built up the program in way that it resembles the places where we live: from our little living place we will take the journey to Europe where we are not alone anymore. At the same time, from an individual you will also become a member of the our community.
We are going to use various methods and program elements, such as discussions, debates, interactive workshops, simulation games, body movement and arts. We will work in couples, trios and groups, making sure that by the end of the 10-days you had the chance to get to know everyone's story.

Marietta Balázs will take care of your journey in Outline. She has a degree in International Relations and she has been working as a project manager and facilitator for the last 6 years. Marietta has been hopping from one country to another lately, she is currently working with the Hungarian minority in a far away corner of the world! She believes that understanding of our own journey opens perspectives to the future what we imagined for ourselves. Marietta loves pub quizzes, watching YouTube videos about complex international borders and creating confusion to bring clarity - all of which you will get a little bit during Outline!
